about

The next evolution of the Arp 2 Gates patch in Drambo, this one in a major tonality with a degree of managed distortion. The wave-shaped pluck voice has gained a second oscillator and slight vibrato, the FM bell has more delay, and the buffer for the bass has been pitched up. A kick and hi-hat created using the feedback modules were added, and all voices passed through Tape Cassette and FAC Alteza reverb for saturation, tape wobble, a subtle noise floor, and ambience. Drambo Euclidean sequencers trigger the percussion with random variation occurring on some beats. The piece is primarily generative. Performance consisted of adjusting voice levels, shifting the Bernoulli gate between A and B, varying note density with MIDI Chance, adjusting delay depth on each voice, and starting/stopping the transport. This was an afternoon living room sofa jam done through headphones. Recorded to a single stereo track in Drambo using 4Pockets Multitrack. Mastered in T-Racks.
