about

Polyrhythmic bell tones with synced delay played by a Euclidean sequencer and guttural drones morphing through a formant filter and trance gate - conjuring sounds of chanting Tibetan Gyuto monks. The mandala, a wheel of colorful patterns, moves through five variations, then returns to silence.

All voices and sequences are from the iPad running AUM. The bell tones are Synthmaster One with internal effects. The drone is the Phasemaker FM synth through Dub Station 2, Koala FX, and Eventide Blackhole. MIDI controllers used in the performance were the KMI Soft Step 2 (sending notes to Phasemaker and changing Poly 2 patterns), the Eventide Space (sending MIDI cc only to Koala FX), and an aux switch into the Space (to show/hide plugins).
