A minimal performance with tuned percussion. Two instances of Poly2 running inside of Drambo sequence the hang drum and plucked synth voices. Multiple layers of random variation combined with a minimal performance were used to create the piece. The physical modelling hang drum is a Drambo instrument shared by Reza Shahbazi on Patchstorage. The plucked synth is a modified version of the factory FM Bass instrument. Two instances of the FRMS granular synth add a shaker (Bondrilo factory preset) and a pad (Electromagnetic Fields by Perplex On). The FRMS parts are sequenced by Atom Piano Roll. Heavy doses of reverb from EOS2 and FAC Alteza (Hypnotic Amnesia) fill out the space. The TouchOSC midi controller with a custom-built layout was used on an iPad Gen2 mapped to Drambo running on an iPad Air3. Performance involved starting and stopping transport, adjusting note density on each voice, and pattern manipulation for the hang drum part in Poly2. Recorded to a single stereo track in Cakewalk. Mastered in T-Racks with the EQP-1A, Dyna-Mu compressor, and Stealth Limiter.
